    Payload Calculator

    If anyone has not seen this calculator, Ill be glad to email it you? This is a great tool to see what you really can tow. You just need to remember when you put the details in for the truck not to forget passenger weight, hitch assembly ETC. also don't forget to see what the load rating is for the tires. Just enter your data from truck and trailer and Excel will do the rest. I wish I there was a place to upload Excel docs.

            Each channel has a Reference Material section. That's where it would be or there will be a link to the resource.

                  Haha. Agreed! Just wondering where the 3 kids are going to go??? And sitting on a 5gal bucket is proven to increase your payload if you are looking for a quick 50#'s.


                  For a 2021 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 HEMI (Diesels suuuuck that payload) SINGLE Cab, 4x2, 8' bed has 4380# payload and 17350# max tow for both Lone Star and Big Horn.

                  These of course are from the website and your door sticker always wins the chat. FYI, Same model with 6.7 CUMMINS - 3060# payload and 20000# max tow.

                    My Laramie 3500 CCSB Hemi with 3.73 gears.

                    14500 max towing
                    4020 payload capacity.

                      Is that the custom one you just ordered to replace the TV? If I am still DDing our TV when I upgrade I will heavily consider the gas options over diesel for increased payload and options for better commuting.

                      My dad has had a 3500 DRW Cummins Ram since 2001 (a 97 and recently at ‘18) and they offer soooo much for towing but I will most likely be DDing our with the 3 littles!

                        Hi all. Just a word of caution on the payload calculator. It does not include a line item for plugging in the weight of your fifth wheel hitch. The hitch can add substantial weight (my Superglide weighs approximately 280 lbs) and impacts the available payload capacity of your truck. Not clear if the author of the spreadsheet meant to include the actual hitch weight under the cargo line item or if he meant to include it as part of the pin weight under the towable RV hitch line item. Either way, make sure you include your hitch weight in your calculations.

                          I have a Ford F250 diesel with a 3166# payload, 30000# GCVWR, 21000# towing and 19200# 5th wheel/gooseneck. To get a 4000#+ payload in a 3/4 ton with just 10000#GVWR would be awesome.

                            Look at the specs for the new f250 with the Godzilla 7.3L. I’m not at office otherwise I would throw specs. I’ve heard good things

                              Typically, a diesel F250 weighs over 7500 lbs. With a 10,000 lb GVWR . . . that leaves 2500 lbs for payload. Often less. Is your GVWR higher than 10,000 lbs ?
