I thought I would post this as I just tried the 3M kit to restore my 04 Super duty headlight to something that might work. Lots of kits out there but I chose the 3M with the sanding attachment.
I got one of these kits thinking what the heck give it a try. https://www.amazon.com/3M-39008-Head...95993833&psc=1
I forgot to get a before picture, but they were more opaque and yellow than this.
The kit has several sanding pads 500 grit, 800 grit and 3000 grit (wet) plus polishing compound.
Instruction were pretty clear except I used too much pressure on the 500 grit and got some minor melting/glazing. A light touch on the sanding is best.
Well to make a long post short the results.
I'm guessing about a 90% or more improvement. Ill know the full improvement when I hit the road. Took about an hour to do both. It was a pain working around Fords 3 nipples cast into the outer lens (for alignment) but if your careful you can sand around them and not tear up the pad. Took two sanding pads to figure that out.
Sylvania makes a better rated kit that uses hand sanding and chemicals. https://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-Head...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
I got it too as a backup so might use it on the Escape after my trip to see which I like best. Or take it with me and do the daughters which I know needs help.
Hope this helps folks.
