    Congrats!
we went from a 2000 F350 XLT to a 2021 F350 lariat. The technology was amazing and scary at the same time. There is no simple cheap fix when things break in these 21st century trucks.

We still have our 2000 F350 7.3 L diesel as back up. Only 120k and just broke in AND....It can run on filtered Crisco Oil in a pinch.... Prepping!

Agreed that the technology is amazing and scary. Definitely a good application for an extended warranty. Did they tell you that they lift off the body for major powertrain repairs . Our 2014 F150 also didn’t go far. One of our sons has it.

First I should say congratulations on the new truck.
On some of these new models it doesn’t even have to be a major repair. One of my favorites is a Ford tech replacing the timing cover on a 6.7. You have to start at the rear differential.

On the technology side, my daily driver is a 98 f150. My wife has a 01 Expedition. Talk about technology shock to a 2020.

              Hi Keith,
Yes, this truck has all the camera and trailer options. The backup assist system now (reportedly) works with 5th wheel trailers. There are additional sensors and locators to be attached to back of truck and front of trailer . . . I haven’t got this part figured out yet.

We have UTT but never use it. I think it was developed for the Millennia generation.

😩Have to agree on the extended warranty. I have a 2017 F350. Recently replaced the fwd camera when it failed. Seems simple but it would have been over $700 if I didn’t have the extended warranty. I can imagine what it would cost to get something serious repaired.

I have that on my truck. We set it up and it works really well (backing up in a straight line has never been easier). However I found limitations. When the trailer and truck angle are too great, the tongue jack covers the sticker on the trailer tongue and the system disengages. If your trailer has a longer tongue, it will work better than if it has a shorter tongue.

Curious how it will work on a 5th wheel.

Capability to work with a 5th wheel is new for 2022. I am also curious about how this will work.

Cate&Rob Rob, congratulations on the new truck. Buy a ford fuel filter and keep it in the trailer with the stuff to change it. If I were going with a conventional hitch and not a slider I'd look at the PullRites. They have a few models that I like for the puck system.

Actually, the 5th wheel kit came with our 2021. It's a box that attaches to the 5th wheel.
