Coming out of the bottom of the upfittter fuse box is a bundle of blunt cut wires (originally wrapped in about a yard of tape) There are two other harnesses going into this fuse box. One appears to be light gauge wires (probably from the switch panel) and the other looks to be power coming into the box. I cannot find any evidence of the pass through wiring, either in the engine compartment or in the passenger compartment.

Cate&Rob Have you tried removing the wheel well liner with the wheels turned to the left? I watched a video of a guy doing it on a 2020 or 21, but of course I can’t find it now. I have the 2021 F350 7.3 gasser and have hooked up two of the upfitters but not the pass thru, they looked very short in the video. Good luck and if I find that video I’ll post the link.

How many blunt end wires are in that bundle? - I see at least 8 and there are only 6 switches, Could the pass through wires be wrapped in it? - maybe undo the rest of the tape. Post #20 in Teds link seems to show them wrapped together.

          Just trying to help

            Hi Keith,

There are 10 wires in the bundle coming out of the Upfitter Relay box. The 6 switch circuits plus 4 others as defined in the Ford Body Builders Layout Book. All these wires come out of the box, so none are the pass though harness wires which can be seen as a separate smaller harness in some of the referenced pictures from the Ford owners forum. Apparently the pass through harness only has four lighter gauge wires for the four lower amp switched circuits. I have contacted the dealership and asked their service manager to have someone show me where the ends of the pass through harness are. I pointed him to the info in the 2022 Owners Manual . . .which does not seem to match my truck. Will see what he comes up with . . .

It would definitely be a good idea to have your dealer show you where these wires are as part of your PDI . . . before you accept delivery of the truck.

Ill bet you a cup of coffee that you actually found the 4 pass through wires - especially as the body builder book indicates they are bundled together. Now you need to find them in the passenger side kick panel by the fuse block - My guess is they will match up - or have you already found the wires inside?

              Just brainstorming

I have looked for these secret (passthrough) wires as well. Can't find 'em inside the cab or under the hood. Admittedly, I have not taken the battery tray out - I figure if I can't find them inside then what's the point?! Found the upfitter switch wires under the hood by the upfitter fuse/relay box. Also found the PTO wires (bundle of 17 wires) inside, under the passenger side kick plate. But no joy on the passthrough wires.

Similar to Cate&Rob I want to hard-wire in my rear view camera display and clear up some wires in the cab and I want to use one of the upfitter switches to switch the power to the display. I will probably just go "old school" and use one of the grommets in the firewall.

                  Hi Ken,

Well . . . I feel a little better with you confirming exactly what I have encountered. There is an accessible grommet under the edge of the passenger carpet (the sill trim pops off easily) . . . which looks like an easy access path. I am still waiting on the Ford dealer to schedule an appointment for his "electrical tech" to show me where the pass through harness ends are. I will report back here (in detail) if/when I learn this.

Still waiting on the insurance company to approve the work my body shop did before I can pick mine up. I remember removing my passenger kick panel for them. The pass through wires were in a bundle quite a ways up above the PTO wires. They were in a separate bundle all by themselves.

                      Hi Neil,

Your description fits with what I have read elsewhere . . . but I can’t find these wires in my truck. I have attempted to remove the vent panel from the end of the dash (as suggested on a Ford forum) but this panel does not come off easily and I don’t want to damage anything.

As a “work around” for my dash cam, I have discovered that the 12V outlet on the back of the center console is on/off with the engine. The dash cam wiring is just long enough to come across the front edge of the head liner, down the passenger A pillar, under the door seal, under the sill plate and under the seat to this outlet. (All other 12V outlets are constant power).

Still waiting on the dealer to “show me” where the upfitter switch pass through wires are . . . . . . .

                          • Pass Through Wiring Harness has been found!

Per above discussion, I took my 2022 Superduty back to the dealer to have their electrical expert show me the ends of the Upfitter Switch Pass Through Wiring Harness . . .
The locations are nothing like what is shown in the owners manual, the Ford Body Builder documents or found through other online searches.

The engine compartment end is buried near the driver side rear corner of the passenger side battery. It is close to the upfitter relay box, but is extremely short. Remains to be seen whether I can make connections between the relay box wires and these wires, without perhaps removing the battery. I think the dealer tech removed the battery to find this harness (because truck instruments and radio all had to be reset after I got the truck back) but I am not sure of this.

The interior end is behind the footwell outer trim panel. Not the opening fuse panel door forward of this trim piece as shown in the owners manual. There is a sequence to removing this interior trim. It is tucked under the door sill trim and the door opening weather seal. Once both of these are pulled out of the way, this trim piece comes out . . . and there is the end of the harness. At least there is sufficient wire length to work with on this end.

Fantastic - Thanks for sharing Rob! I will be resuming my own search with this new intelligence!

With the little extra length in the cab, I wonder whether it would be possible to pull them (or one of them) further into the engine bay to give a little more length in there? Just thinking out loud.

                              • Well I now know where my new truck is. Santa left a thank you note in my stocking that Rudolph borrowed it for the LED head lights (his nose is getting dim with age) and extra space for presents.
Santa said it is unknown at this time when I might get it back. Evidently Rudolph likes the instant cab heat
