Congrats!!! I have a question which may not belong here. What can you do if your F250 Lariat bed side walls are too high to enable turning clearance? We need about 4" more. Even if it could clear that means the angle of the FW may be too steep. The F250 is factory, not modified. Thanks for your help.

Was pretty easy, did it on the ground with a torque wrench and floor jack.
If you lower the rear end, you should be able to raise the pinbox to different set of holes and maintain the same level, which will then increase the distance between the top of the bed rail and the RV. You may be able to get some extra space from your hitch adjustment as well, but the key would be to lower the bed so you have more options.Forum moderators are not GD employees--we are volunteers and owners presumably just like yourself. Hi Scott,
Clearance between the overhang of the 5th wheel and the box rails of the truck is affected by adjusting the height of the hitch, or the position of the pinbox on the trailer, or both. If the trailer is not reasonably level, then the trailer needs to be raised on is suspension or the back of the truck lowered on its suspension. If the top of the tailgate is in the range of 57" to 58" from the ground with the truck empty, this is "normal". If this measurement is significantly greater than this, the truck has likely been "lifted" by some modification.
