  • Blue Ox - An Alternative Hookup Method

Another item from my archives I'm adding to this forum. This information was originally posted elsewhere back in Feb '19.

The Blue Ox with the 2K bars does a great job distributing weight and controlling sway. What I hate is the way the bars connect and disconnect. After much searching and testing of different options, the videos below document the alternative method I now use. (i've done it many, many times over the past year.)

Let me hasten to add that another alternative to the Blue Ox OEM connection (I believe identified by Triplethreat ) is a device made by Lippert called the StrapTek. https://store.lci1.com/straptek-weig...it-335852.html I'm sure he'll chime in here if there's any questions on that item.

Please note the videos were taken the first time I was attempting the bar connections with my (then new) all-in-one jack, so I fumble around a bit.

    Any questions, just ask!

Dec '19 UPDATE: I now use the Strapteks--they are fantastic. See this thread for more info: https://gdrvowners.com/towing-and-hi...st-impressions

Forum moderators are not GD employees--we are volunteers and owners presumably just like yourself. Unless specifically mentioned otherwise, we have nothing to gain should you choose to purchase a product or engage a service we discuss on this forum.
