    Dan & Joseph . . . you are both right . . . LOL!

Part of the reason for getting a "much bigger" truck was to open up the possibility of a bigger trailer. But, when I think through all the things that I have added to this one, I don't really want to start over.

But Rob....Think of all the new and improved stuff you can do And you never know you might figure out a way to self park. Just think of the possibility's. And I am sure none of the wonderful folks here will even mention what you can spend funds on

      Hi Neil & Howard

I have narrowed the fault to happening after I release the brake pedal after an extended braking event (through which the trailer brakes are working correctly). So . . . what information is the truck looking for from the EoH actuator? I have a BrakeRite actuator. What brand do you guys have? (I know that Howard's is different than mine) The simplest solution to this might be a new EoH actuator . . .

Mine is a Dexter, which I think used to be the Titan.

        Yes . . . Dexter bought Titan and just changed the labels . . . doesn't explain why yours works and mine doesn't . . .

I’ve got the hydrastar actuator on my 320G with my 2021 F350 and just did a weekend trip with no messages but I was watching the VictronConnect 712 to see if the actuator was working, which it was. I did get that message when I was checking the wiring before I had it all hooked up, just to make sure I was wiring the correct wire.

Cate&Rob -- I have the Hydrastar, too, as that's what MORRyde installs.

The screenshot and video below may help?

Below are all the items that can be measured with Forscan Lite (I have it on my Samsung phone).

Take note that in the video below I mention several times that I got a TRAILER DISCONNECTED warning when manually actuating the brake controller. Nothing was connected to the truck.

Also...I have no idea how the audio and video got out of sync so it may be a bit confusing to watch (sorry). I can do it again tomorrow if need be. Hopefully it give you the idea of what's happening...

The last leg of our trip home and I again lost trailer brakes for the last half. Grrrr!!! (Got home safe-and -sound)

Trying to figure out what is going on and then I get the following info from TNFSolitude Tom. (Thanks Tom!!)
                https://gdrvowners.com/towing-and-hi...call-announced

From the text of that link . . .
"The trailer braking recall includes . . . 2022 F-250, 350, 450 and 550. A software error can stop trailers from braking, increasing the risk of a crash."

                Well . . . that . . . explains . . . that !!

Cate&Rob Info from the Ford-trucks geoup site... So you have the recall number if you didn't find it already.

Just to touch base on this much earlier discussion . . . I finally got the truck into the Ford dealer for the software update to solve intermittent trailer brake apply. This seems to have worked, but I still get the "Trailer Disconnected" message at the end of each brake apply . . . although, the trailer brakes are coming on. All trailer lights check out OK so that is not the cause of the message. (This is a Titan EoH trailer disc brake system that I installed myself and that worked properly for years with a "less smart" Ford truck) So . . . I reset the truck apply system from "EoH trailer brakes" to "Default electric/surge trailer brakes" and the disconnect message is gone but the trailer brakes seem to be applying as expected. I can't explain this, but I seem to have found a combination that works.

I would be interested in which brake apply setting works with other trailer EoH brakes and a Ford truck.

I have the Hydrastar brake system and use the EoH brake setting, so far no messages.

Cate&Rob -- my '17 is also set to EoH with the Hydrastar. I haven't encountered a message or error with the setup.
