I run additives in all my diesels, on-road and off-road and have after my first injector change at 96Kmi in my LB7 Duramax. I ended up getting 170K out of the second set using Stanadyne every fill up. An interesting note, the first time i pulled the injectors I had to forcefully pry them out and they were loaded with carbon and the cylinders were filthy. After running with the additive the second set of injectors slid right out by hand and everything was shiny and clean! Seeing that, I started running an additive in every diesel I have. I had do do work on my tractor and it had no carbon or varnish inside either so I will keep running what I have been running. Unrelated, i had drained the tractor fuel system into a glass bottle because that was all I had in the field and didn't want to dump it on the ground I left it sitting on the fender an when I got back a couple days later with the parts the fuel was no longer red.

Todd_P have you ever seen the report on additives https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/art...dditives-r366/

Bio Diesel is one of the best additives / cleaners out there.

I sold my diesel in 2017 but I always ran Bio if I could find it. I suspect theres a lot of it in most places these days because the smell of the exhaust on the older non DPF trucks has changed.

The Stanadyne Lubricity Formula came in at #8 so I am not going to complain. My mix ratio is also greater than the test sample most of the time since I add the full tank amount no matter how much I am filling, even when topping up a 3/4 full tank. I have yet to see bio diesel or even blended bio-diesel at a pump around here; either that or they are not labeled to indicate it.

I don't know where you are, but I've seen it in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Louisiana, Arkansas, and a couple of other places. Look for a B15 label on the diesel pumps. Not always used in the winter due to the fact that it's cloud point is pretty high.

I saw it more on the interstates South of MI than anywhere around here. Our warm season is too short for it to be more widespread.

I cant say for towing, but I can give information on working my Diesel tractor hard (Bobcat CT 235) cutting and bailing hay. It has the same low sulfur requirement. I run both on road and off road red die fuel and there is absolutely no difference. Like I have said the existence of non low sulfur fuel in the US is very limited and you wont find it at any fuel station, so your probably safe, but if you have doubts drain the tank and start over. You have never reported back if you did in fact get red die fuel and your truck specifics, so were are all going on our own experiences. Its been right at a month from your last post, so please let us know how things turned out for you.

                  Safe travels
