  • How Do I Smooth Out 397th Towing?

I am hoping to install air ride pin box on my 2020 397th. My goal is to smooth out the ride as well as gain an inch or two between the truck bed and trailer. I am pulling with 2019 F-450 8' bed. Any suggestions?

hello Furrbabies I'm sorry, but I'm not able to comment on aftermarket products. I would recommend either asking other members of this forum for their personal opinions or contacting LCI directly.

Megan Thanks. I will see if I can figure out how to get it out there to other members.

Furrbabies Another way to come at this is with an "air ride 5th wheel hitch". If you Google this description, you will find manufacturers and commentary from others. I have no direct experience with these hitches, but have talked at some length with RVers who swear by these for delivering the optimum in towing comfort and height adjustment.

The air ride hitches and pin boxes do an excellent job of dampening movement and interaction between the truck and trailer. Less expensive - but effective - options include other dampened pin boxes. You don't mention what year your 379 is - did it come with a Roto-Flex or MORryde dampened pin box? If not, addition of a MORryde or Demco Glide Ride pin box would be less expensive than the air ride options (I'm not a fan of the Roto-Flex). We've been very happy with our Demco.
