  • Pros and Cons of a Storage Facility

We're moving and there will be no space to have our Imagine at our home. Looking for advice on pricing, security, serviceability and so on. We will be looking in the north mid-west region of Ohio (Port Clinton area) if anyone has information on a good site.

Uncertain where to put this post so moderators please move accordingly.

    Moved to Non-Technical.

Sorry that is all the help I have. I am familiar with the Port Clinton area but have never needed storage (fished there quite a few times).

      Thanks Brian,

Let me know when your in the area. We have talked about Kelly's Island State park and East Harbor State park. Both nice places to camp. I'm working out a bunch of details, and have a temporary solution but would like a place that has a roof, electric, cameras and so on in the area.

Can't help you with a location, but we've stored our Reflection 337 at an outdoor storage facility for the last 2 years. For a spot with a canopy, we paid about $75/month (small town in S. Dakota). The facility is gated and we have a code to enter, and I believe they have security cameras. The sites are very close together, so we cannot put out a slide. Nor would we be able to put out steps if we had the 'flip out of the door' type (like MORryde) - one reason we chose Torklifts instead.

          Andi,

Thank you so much! The more info the better. I've been concerned with an outside lot where someone may back their rig into the Imagine and not report it. Cameras may help I suppose. Have you encountered any damage or know of others with damage? I had a garage type setup lined up and found the door is 10 ft tall.

Jim, we've been lucky and have not had or heard of any issues. We also are in a pretty low population and safe area, so that may help. Larger cities might have more issues I suppose.

Hope you find something that works for you!

Well I have acquired the storage facility I have been hoping for. An open front pavilion at $1200/Yr. Not sure if this is a deal or not but I sure feel better about how our Imagine will be stored. Gated and fenced with security cameras.

We will park it there after an upcoming trip.

That does not sound like a bad deal to me. Glad you found a spot for the Imagine.

                  Country Campers Brian,

Was thinking it was not too bad since its cheaper than a boat dock. This was a bit of a stressor for me where I'm glad to have what I believe to be a safe place for our rig. And there is another Imagine parked there.

For covered I would pay that. We are currently paying $65 for uncovered. Probably increase to $75 when we renew next month. Covered spots at our facility run $160-$175 per month. Depends on what power source you want.

Where Im at the lot is secured you let them know when you want the trailer and they bring it to a staging area and when your done you drop it off in the same area. They pull them up and take them back to help eliminate people banging into your rig. I pay 30 bucks a month
