  • customer service at G D in Elkhart.

I tried to make this post but I was not able to type on the previous screen [ one of the worst sites I have ever worked with]. I was returning to NY from Arizona in April, when my slide failed on the driver's side. A local company in Santa Fe [Rusty Wrench] sent a tech out and we were able to get the slide back in. Since we were traveling past Indiana, I figured call Grand Design, and go right to the factory and have the slide repaired. My call to GD did not go well, I was told even though it was emergency [as I was traveling to get back to NY] there was nothing they could do for me. Best Customer Service - HOGWASH! If they won't do anything for someone traveling cross country with a problem, forget getting any minor fixes. My wife and I were EXTREMELY disappointed, I then called GD corporate to see if I could get any satisfaction, no way got the bum's rush there too!

My experience with the repair center is that it is by appointment only since they are busy with major repairs. I waited for months to get our rig to them for a wall replacement. The dealer is the first line for repair and that's not always ideal as well. This is universal with all brands since the dealers are not corporate owned and will typically favor folks that purchased the rig from them.

Not had issues with posting anything here.

This website is where owners help other owners solve issues with the trailer (fix a leak, replace hardware, etc)--it is not a place to air complaints about GD customer service. I suggest continuing to contact Grand Design Customer Service via phone, email or even snail mail with your situation.

I am closing this thread. Feel free to start a new thread with the specific issue on your slide if you'd like to try and resolve it yourself with assistance from other forum members.

Forum moderators are not GD employees--we are volunteers and owners presumably just like yourself. Unless specifically mentioned otherwise, we have nothing to gain should you choose to purchase a product or engage a service we discuss on this forum.
