  • slide out tape over rivets

    Hi all,
I was cleaning all my seals (Aerospace 303 cleaner, then protectant) around the slides. I noticed the factory tape over the rivets on top of the slide out and it won't be long before they are exposed. Normal wear from slide going in and out I suppose.

What would you recommend to use over the top of the old tape?
    Would Eterna-bond be too thick?

    TIA

As long as you have clearance from the top of the slide to the wall cut out then the eternabond would be fine.

One time when sweeping off the slide roof, i had a oopsie moment where the broom head pushed against the screw heads and tape, and managed to tare the tape. It wasn't a linear tare, thankfully, it was more where the screw heads were showing. The recommended fix from Grand Design was to use some lap sealant over the tape. I did this and it seems to be holding up well over the years, and not causing any issues with the slide seals.
