Installation of screen door handle with fold in steps? .

I just bought a2021 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK. I ordered a new screen door handle but have not had it installed yet, I am very short and cannot reach the very small screen door handle to shut the door from inside. My question is, actually brought to my attention by my husband, will the fold in steps hit that handle so we cannot close the front door when we are about to tow it.
