The china hutch in out 280RS has shelves that are quite tall. I wanted to add some intermediate shelves to fit more drink ware, and tried to come up with a simple fix.
For supports I used 1/2x 1/16 aluminum, cut 12-3/4 long with holes 3/8 from each end and painted black.
I had some 3mm baltic birch plywood I cut to the right dimensions, and notched the corners to clear the cabinet frame. I used 2 coats of Behr stain and poly matte, in a color they call "bold coffee", sanding lightly between coats.
It is a pretty good match for the stained wood in our unit, although the vinyl wrapped fake wood is a little lighter and more brown. I will shift one shade next time I buy.
It was a little tricky to drill holes back in inside that dark cabinet, so I am still thinking about a support that would make that easier, but then I just set the support on top and load it up.
