No DC Power after shutting down Generator

Simplicity is always better. Why place an inline fuse hidden in a mess of wires that has no known purpose?

Does anybody know what this fuse is used for?

I’m honestly thinking it was something to do with the inverter prep. GD doesn’t always use the same inverters so they may have included a 30A inline as backup in case the inverter they installed didn’t have a fuse (rare) or in case an owner did something silly when disconnecting the inverter (though that is what the battery switch is for).

Really hard to say since GD doesn’t seem to document their wiring harnesses (at least that I can find). Even just a conceptual diagram would be great but there seems to be +12v positive cables running all over the place in mine. Future project to clean up this mess.
