I've often thought about relocating the switch close to the battery and making it a 100% cut off switch. As per howson 's diagram the jacks do not run through the switch in the factory installation. Wonder if the rating on the keyed switch would handle the current required by the jacks or the brakes in an emergency situation activation?

However, it's just not that much trouble to disconnect the neg lead from the battery when trailer is not in use.

several people, including myself, have added a switch to the system. I used https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and a short negative jumper wire to put the switch in the negative lead from the battery.

I did it this way b/c #1 safety as only playing with the negative wire no chance of shorting out the hot lead with no fuse, and #2 it was the easiest to interrupt.

I picked up a short black wire from the local parts house similar to https://www.amazon.com/Gauge-Copper-...lbWF0aWM&psc=1 to make the connection from the battery to the switch.

I also added a negative bus bar to clean up the mess of negative to frame thingy through the single tech screw. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The bus bar is post switch.
