  • Non GFCI outlets not working?

Hi, we have a new 395MS-R. We were gone for the night, so we pulled in our slides and left everything hooked up for the power, and came back to our residential fridge not working. We checked the breakers (even under the first step) and fuses all look fine. However, we have no power in the outlet behind the living room TV and refrigerator. Also, the outlets in our slide where the table is don’t work. Its like the non-GFCI outlets don’t work. Any clue what could have gone wrong? Neighbors said power didn’t go off last night. The surge protector is fine as well.

    Does the microwave work?

There's also an outlet just behind the door, campside of the trailer, as you enter the garage. Does it work?

OK -- that's good as it's on a separate circuit (or is supposed to be).

The refrigerator is on what we'll call "Circuit G". That's on it's own circuit. What's odd is the inverter should have kicked in...let's set that one aside for a moment.

All the other outlets are on what we'll call "Circuit H". Please test ALL of the one's marked "H" and report the results.

Again--test all of them. Do some work and do some not?

Note that the drawing below was created from a source that has been known to have occasional errors...so we'll have to work through the results to determine if it's the trailer or diagram.

                  Sorry--please clarify.

All of the H circuits do NOT work except the one by the dining table (it DOES work); or is the dining room table outlet the only one that does NOT work?

And the fridge one, we guess but we can’t move it to get behind the fridge.

From the tech who is here: The voltage from the shore power to power panel and going to sub panel all checks out perfect. Breckers are all good. Something on the fridge circuit must be the issue. As soon as you turn it on, it pops immediately, that’s with a new circuit breaker installed.

OK...for the outlet on the H circuit that is by the dining room table, it's either the outlet itself, a problem with a connection that's called a "molex" connector, or perhaps a pinched and cut wire under the slide. To troubleshoot further you need to be well versed with electrical circuits, have the proper tools (and know how to use them). If you're a DIY'er and ready to tackle this, myself or others here can point you in the right direction.

For the refrigerator, it's on a different circuit (or supposed to be). It wouldn't surprise me if the refrigerator and the dining room table were on the same circuit and what appears to be two different problems is really just one. (This is why I urge people to map out their circuit breakers-to-outlets and appliances while everything is working!)

Your 310GK has an inverter that will power the refrigerator when shore power is off. If you turn off shore power (at the pedestal) does the refrigerator come on? If not, is the inverter on? The information in this thread may help: https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...g-refrigerator

Hopefully Second Chance (Rob) will see your thread and chime in--he's got a 310GK.

Then the tech needs to look for a pinched wire where power is fed to the slide or perhaps there's water in the molex connector (a "Molex" is where the hard wiring of the camper meets the soft wiring required for a slide--picture below). The molex will be under the coroplast of the main flooring. The tech, if he has a multimeter, should be able to find the short by doing a continuity test (with power OFF, obviously).

The inverter is on and the fridge doesn’t come on.
