I do not see any reason why you could not do that. You may need a different thermostat but I am not sure.

I would reach out to dometic if your ac is multizone particularly. They had CC1 (comfort control 1) and now they use CC2. Dometic should be able to tell you what protocol your existing one uses by model/serial number. If its CC2 you can replace it with any of their CC2 models. CC2 really simplified multizone systems.
