I know this topic has been previously posted, but I wanted to address this again for maybe new information and hopefully help in finding fittings that will actually “fit.”
I have finally obtained a 2 gallon accumulator or expansion tank to install on the discharge of my water pump. As many of you are are aware, the manufacturer’s poor design of randomly shifting back and forth between the more rigid Pex piping and Pex fittings to a soft plastic hose and using the same Pex fittings (that don’t really fit) is causing on board water leaks after vibration.
Knowing this, and having to deal with it, I’m hoping you can tell me where I can actually find hose and fittings to work around this mess to install the accumulator tank. I ordered some “food grade” 1/2 ID hose, but not even close to a good fit with Pex fittings. I picked up a barbed connector tee for my tank, but the barbed male fittings are also too small to seal properly in the soft hose. I could shift to the real blue rigid Pex tubing, but I still need to deal with a very short stub of soft plastic hose on the discharge of my pump. I have very little hose to work with before it disappears into foam and underneath the floor. My connection needs to hold the first time and needs to stay leak free. (Picture attached)
Home Depot, Amazon, Grainger. Name of fittings?? Please help! image widget image widget
