  • Black Tank Valve Location

Our black tank valve cable/handle is very hard to pull in and out. We have ordered a replacement valve and cable and this would be our first time making this change. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Our propane line runs along both sides of the trailer and goes across the width of the trailer as well. Not sure if we want to take all of that loose to drop the coroplast or it would be easier to make an "X" or "H" cut in the coroplast and then seal it with black gorilla tape.

We are unsure of the location of the black tank valve. We have a 2019 303 RLS and would like any information as to where we could make the cut to access the valve area.

Thank you in advance for you advice and guidance!

You could just drop the front and door side of the coroplast to access the valve but it might be easier to drop the whole front back to the axles. The black tank valve is strait in from the discharge end towards the door side. The valve will be closer to the discharge connection that is why I would recommend at least dropping that side. This winter I was under our 29RS and the tank layout is the same as a 303RLS.

Welcome to our owners technical forum.

The black tank is on the right side going forward from more-or-less behind the entry stairs.

Cutting into the coroplast is never a good idea . . . but particularly not when working on a holding tank gate valve replacement. You will not be able to replace the valve, working through a small hole. All three tanks are firmly attached to the central manifold that leads to the waste hose connection point (upper right of the picture attached). Each gate valve is sandwiched between a flange on the tank and a flange on the pipe manifold. To remove one gate valve, you will have to either shift the tank forward slightly or loosen the other two gate valves to get some play in the manifold. The best plan is to drop the coroplast from the front, back to the tires which will give you the access that you need. Be prepared for a rat's nest of wiring to be secured out of the way before you can work on replacement of the gate valve.
