  • Anti-Lock Brakes?

Hi there, I have a new 2024 23LDE, and it has the new Lippert Anti-Lock brakes. On my "QR Code Sheet" that has the QR code for my Compass Connect system, I also have a QR code for the ABS module, but I have been unable to connect to it. Reading the error, it says that the running lights need to be on before I will be able to connect with the module. I haven't yet hitched up to try this out, but does this mean that the ABS doesn't function unless the running lights are on?

Sounds like the ABS module needs power other than the intermittent the brakes supply.

If you are comfortable you can use a couple of blade terminals and a fuse holder to jump from the 12V + to the running light circuit on the 7 way whip on the camper. THis will allow you to power the module without the TV. Only do this if you are comfortable with the wiring diagram. I use https://www.amazon.com/hz/mobile/mis...pd_rd_wg=rk4z5 and https://www.amazon.com/Baomain-disco...s%2C121&sr=8-9 (of course I use the proper sized terminals for the fuse holder).

I suggest a 5 or 10 amp fuse in the holder.

Yes they make a device for this, but it's rather expensive for what it does. https://www.amazon.com/Camper-LITESW.../dp/B075JP5C8C you can make one if you have the 7 way plug laying around or buy a cheap one.

https://letscampsmore.com/running-lights-hack/ the cheap cheap way to do it.

I actually did this tonight, I still couldn't detect the module... I'll have to try hitching up to see if there is power supplied by the brake pin...

Look under the camper and see if there are 2 sets of wires going to the brake drums. One is for the speed sensor and the other is for the magnet that applies the brakes.

just a thought, but you may need to supply power and activate the brakes one time to wake the module up.

I actually determined that the app was wrong in asking that the running lights be engaged. It seems that when it couldn't automatically detect the ABS it defaulted to the looking for a camera dialog and that's what needed the lights on. I watched a Lippert video about the ABS module and it made it clear you needed to be hitched up for it to be detected so that there was a power signal on the brakes line, once I did that I was able to pair with it. Not really useful though, it just gives you an odometer...

I just posted about this on another thread, basically I believe that after I got this working, it killed my Compass Connect app functionality. I did a factory reset on the app and everything started working, but after my last trip I re-added the ABS module and it killed the app connection, so I removed the ABS module and it started working again. Just a FYI if you're trying to add this
