  • Covering up solar panel when not in use.

We have a 2022 Grand Design Imagine 2600RB. We will be storing it outside (not under cover) all summer in Arizona. We want to put a RV cover over it to protect it from the sun. Can we just put the cover over the solar panel or do we need to do something with the solar panel? We are not very knowledgeable when it comes to the solar panels. Thank you

Yes, you can cover the solar panel with no issues. Suggest putting something soft (pool noodles?) on the corners of the panel(s) to keep the cover from tearing.

bmichaelsen -- I assume you'll be disconnecting the negative on the battery before covering the camper?

Depending on how long the camper will be left covered, and what type of battery is in the camper, you might consider taking the battery home and occasionally hooking up to a Battery Tender or similar trickle charger.
