  • 2023 National Rally Seminar Information

Hello everyone! My fellow moderators and myself are also coordinating seminars and just wanted to post some information about what to expect, in particular for any first timers. We have been working literally since we wrapped up the rally last year to bring you the best seminars we could arrange. What are the seminars you ask? They are sessions put on for you to listen to a presentation and ask questions. The daily schedule is in your attendee materials you receive at registration, and there is also a list of all the seminars with descriptions here: https://www.gdrvnationalrally.com/seminars

New this year we have access to the entire ECCC building, so no more trips to the basement. This means we are moving the venues around from how they were previously arranged.

The seminars fall into three groups:

First are OEM seminars. These are located in the ECCC Showwalter Room, and are put on by the manufacturers of the various components in your rigs. Think Lippert, Dometic, Coleman, etc. These are great seminars to attend for information regarding use and maintenance as well as basic troubleshooting.

Second are the vendor seminars. They are in the AG Hall and Pork Producers Building. All of the vendors who are exhibiting at the rally have the opportunity to give a seminar on their products. These range from aftermarket parts, caravan travel, holding tank treatments, and more.

Lastly are the Owner to Owner (OTO) seminars. These are located in the ECCC Martin&Fiddler Rooms (combined to one large room) and the Mennonite Room. While we plan and schedule all of the seminars, we have the most involvement in OTO seminars. We find other owners (as well as ourselves in some cases) to give presentations to the other owners on topics of interest. We introduced these in 2019 and they were a huge success. All of these presenters have no vested interest, and are not selling anything; they are just there to speak on a topic they have knowledge on and answer any questions. These culminate in a "roundtable" discussion we are hosting on Thursday where we will have as many of the OTO presenters as possible there to take questions and spur discussions on everything from repairs, upgrades, or general how-to information. Anything goes: if you have a question on any aspect of RVing or your Grand Design (or just want to listen to other peoples questions), please feel free to drop in any time in the window.

New this year we have worked with Grand Design to host a Tech Corner in the Health and Family Arts building. There will be hands on displays of RV systems as well as personnel on site in this building to answer question and host hands on discussions of many of the subsystems in the average Grand Design rig. These are unscheduled and meant to just be open for attendees to drop in when they have free time. The hours are posted in the rally schedule here: https://www.gdrvnationalrally.com/schedule

We really look forward to meeting all of you! If you have any questions about the seminars, please feel free to ask and I will do the best I can to answer you, or find someone who can.
Forum moderators are not GD employees--we are volunteers and owners presumably just like yourself. Unless specifically mentioned otherwise, we have nothing to gain should you choose to purchase a product or engage a service we discuss on this forum.
