  • 5th wheel hitch care

Hello, not new to RVing however this is my first 5th wheel. Is there a typical maintenance process? IE I have an auto-slide, should I lubricate the slides, hitch plate, kingpin on the RV etc etc. Thanks in advance!

We have a PullRite Superglide and found care instructions on YouTube (from the PullRite manufacturer - Nich the Hitch Guy). We also found that PullRite was really good at answering our questions we sent via Email. One thing to consider is ensuring the bolts are tightened (in some cases - torqued) correctly, so that may mean getting a torque wrench. We use WD40 for the tubes and inside shaft, but only clean the top hitch plate, king pin and capture plate. The owners manual has the maintenance instructions.
