  • First Trip

First off I would like to thank everyone on here that helped with recommendations on tow vehicle and hitch.
My wife is a preschool teacher at our church and is off this week for spring break and we wanted to go somewhere this week with our new 337 RLS. Tuesday evening we made the decision to go to Pigeon Forge Tennessee. First tow with 3500 HD High Country and it was awesome. Took 10 hrs and 515 miles to get to campsite.

Glad you found the answers here to the TV and Trailer combination that met your needs.

10 hrs and 500+ miles is a good trek for a day. Done it a few times and like most others we have become members of the about 300 club.

That is a great report, glad we could help. Remember to change your signature being as you have possession of the new RV.

We are headed to that area in May, looking forward to our first trip of the year.

Country Campers I believe we'll be in Tennessee in May this year as well. Never been in Tennessee, I hope it's nice

Wife and i had a great time and the weather was awesome awesome. 78 & 79 on Thursday & Friday. Had a good time at Dolly Wood. This is our first diesel truck and it’s unbelievable the power it has for the mountains. Pull a 3+ mile steep mountain @ 60 mph with ease and exhaust break worked great keeping speed down going down the other side. Was surprised when i go 10.7 on WV turnpike.
Didn't have any idea of towing mileage bit guess this isn’t to bad towing @ 68 mph.

Jay HHI6818 From personal experience hand calc the mileage (All of my GM's are/were off).

Glad you are liking the combination. Diesel is definitely the way to go when towing through the grades. Made the trip to Pigeon Forge from Houston and the grades were never an issue. I did manually kick it down a couple of times on the hills to keep the trans from wanting to hunt (was a hit or miss thing on it wanting to do that).
