  • Gooseneck / MORryde RPB77-006 Hitch Adapter

This question is for those that are using a MORryde Rubber Pin Box RPB72-1621 and are using the Andersen Ultimate Hitch, PullRite 2400/2600 SuperLite Hitch or a Curt Crosswing Hitch.

While I was researching these hitches I discovered that Andersen has the following note: “MORryde Pin Box: This is compatible with all versions of the Ultimate Connection ONLY when it is installed with MORryde part # RPB77-006, PullRite has no such note, so I sent them an email, their reply was the “RPB77-006 was not needed”. So is the MORryde part #RPB77-006 needed with these types of hitches. How many are using it or not using, anyone experience issues when using this type of hitch

I have had discussions with Morryde on this topic when I bought my 398MBS and the RPB77-006 is needed for both the Andersen and the PullRite. So I went with the Curt Crosswing Hitch and had the same discussion with Curt who to me how the Crosswing is made to work with the Morryde rubber pin box and nothing else needed. Sure it works but it tilts the pin box so that the back pucks don't touch the skid plate. After 2000 miles of towing it was getting worse so I called Morryde. Their engineers reviewed the Curt and actually had one come in last week with 5th wheel and Morryde rubber pin box and I was told they highly recommend the RPB77-006 to give more stability. I just ordered the RPB77-006 to use on my Morryde rubber pin box with my Curt Crosswing. Lesson learned, don't ask the hitch manufacturer, go straight to Morryde. The Morryde website also states that it is needed with the Andersen and the PullRite. I suspect that it will be updated soon to include the Crosswing.
