  • 2021 Chevy 2500 camera electronics issues

I've read a bunch of threads about the newer Chevy trucks having problems with powering up the brakes and or camera.
I haven't towed my camper with this newer truck yet. I had an 08 2500HD before and never had any problems.
Is it specific to a certain number of years? Is there a "fix" so far as my year model? I just want to go ahead and prepare my truck before I go pick my camper up from the dealership. I had a couple of warranty issues fixed.

I am not sure of the effected years but mine is a 22 built in October of 21 and it has the issue with the camera. I do have the Furrion adaptor and it helps the camera but does give me a "check turn signal bulb" message once and a while. I have not had brake problems yet. There is another "fix" that I have not tried but heard that it works better than the Furrion adaptor. I will look for this and get back to you.

I'm not sure what your specific question is but I have a 2022 GMC Sierra and I use the wireless Haloview rear camera on mine. I removed the Furrion that came on my Reflection. I did buy the special pigtail to power the camera through the parking lights but I have found that I don't need it. Once I turn on my parking (running) lights....my camera powers up and works fine. No issues with brakes or anything else. Hope that helps!

We have a 2024 Chevy 2500HD and the Furrion adapter fixed all our issues.

Our 35ft fifth wheel was the same. Turn on the parking lights and rear view camera came on.
Never used back up cameras and never will. Mirrors are all I need.

I use my mirrors mostly except for when my wife disappears from the mirrors. I then look at the camera to see where she is. I stop when I can't see her. I keep the camera turned off when driving except when I need to see when to get over after passing a car. My 2023 Chevy 2500 has to have the lights on for my Amtifo camera to work.
