The Arctic Package is just a marketing gimmick. The sticker is on all units.

You’ll likely be fine with the 2500, though you should check your door pillar sticker to be sure

“Arctic Package” is marketing. This is a “required option” on all Grand Design products. Some recent owners manuals advise not to use the trailer below freezing . . . although, many owners successfully do this. You will require additional insulation and/or procedures to keep water systems from freezing. There are several threads on this forum with advice on how to camp below freezing.

You need to look at more than the tow rating. Payload is the most critical specification. The weights of you, your passengers, anything you are carrying in the truck, any accessories, including the hitch, you’ve added to the truck and your approximately 2,000lb pin weight have to total less than the payload of the truck on the door pillar sticker.

Welcome, enjoy the 29RS, we like ours. I think you truck will be fine, just watch your weights. As others have said, the Artic Package is a sales pitch. We have camped below freezing with no issues, other than the frunace running a lot.

We are hopeful to run it up north about an hour soon as the weather gets better here. I'm not a fan of freezing in the cold. Thank yall for the responses.
