My wife and I just took dilivery of our 2020 Solitude 310 GK-R. When we pulled in to the drive we noticed a loud popping noise coming from the axle area. I had my wife drive around the parking lot as I walked beside with my hand on the tariler. It would pop every time she made a turn and I could feel it in my hand that was on the side of the trailer. It has the eqaflex system. Any ideas of why this is happening? Thanks

Thanks, I spoke to the dealer and they suggested I bring it back in. I have looked at other forums and it appears this is somewhat of a common theme with people that have this same set up but on other brands of RV's. Not a good way to start our grand design experience. But I am sure it is nothing that cannot be fixed.2017 F250 Diesel Superduty SRW SWB

You may want to grease all of the grease fittings on the suspension, spring ends , equaflex. I have found on our unit when new that there was no grease in any of the fittings, the grease was just wiped on to the zerk fitting. I used a different color grease so I knew that there was none inside. Another thing to check is the u-bolts on the axel mount for the springs. After assembly and traveling to the dealer there is sometimes some "settling" with the springs.

When turning sharply - maybe 50 degrees or more - both of our GD trailers have complained with noise. It gets louder and more frequent when backing up and worse the sharper the turn. There's tremendous strain on the wheels. However no apparent harm done even after near-90-degree turns... the trailers continued to track well, tires evenly warm, etc..
If not turning sharply, in addition to the things you've checked or had suggested to you, check the lug nuts on the wheels. Good luck.Last edited by boyscout; 08-10-2019, 08:36 PM.Mark - 2018 Solitude 310GK - Ford F-350 SRW diesel short box - Pullrite Superglide hitch

The “popping” noise comes from the spring hanger being wider than the spring. It shouldn’t be this way, but this is just the way towable RV suspension is built. As you turn, the spring slides across the hanger bolt and hits the other side of the hanger. Greasing the hanger bolts helps to ease this movement. Without sufficient grease, the action is “stick and slip” which makes the impact louder. If you examine your spring hangers and spring ends, you will be able to see up to 1/8” space between the inside dimension of the hanger and the width of the spring/bushing.
