  • Reese Goosebox on new 29BH?

About 2 weeks ago we picked up our new (2021 29BH) trailer, and used an adapter to connect the goose ball in the bed. Was told by the dealer that the Reese goosebox would not fit - or they didn't have one in stock - so I have a Ranch Hand straight adapter installed by them. Also was told that the frame warranty will be honored, which was my concern. Question is- will a Goosebox fit in place of the factory "Turning Point" hitch?

I cannot answer as to whether the Goosebox will fit, but I am really concerned about this "Ranch Hand" you mentioned. Is it this https://andersenhitches.com/Catalog/...h-adapter.aspx ? For that matter any straight adapter for a 5th wheel to a goose ball I have always understood to be discouraged. The torsional forces will lead to frame issues and will void the warranty. Nowhere on the Andersen site that I could find is this style of hitch guaranteed, whereas the Ultimate version is.

You could call Lippert or GD as ask about the frame warranty with this hitch, but I would not give them your name, lest it be entered into their customer contact system and come back to haunt you.

I am very interested in what others have to say, stay tuned.

Thanks for the input, and yes that Anderson straight adapter is the one installed.

Driliing into the Pin Box or welding to the Pin Box seems a bit drastic. I would guess that most dealers would "tap-out" of these procedures.
