This past spring we purchased a new reflection 220rd and I have to say it has been a nightmare so far. It has been in the shop more than it has been with us. We had a problem with the way the slide was installed needed all new slide mechanism. The compass connect didn’t work, needed a whole new unit. The rear leveling feet were to low and sometimes scraped on driveways or speed bumps, needed shorter legs. The backup camera didn’t work, still doesn’t work; waiting for approval from grand design for a new one. There were problems with the refrigerator do to the way it was installed, there was “debris” under it so it didn’t sit level and while traveling it would move around. We got approval for a new one the dealer installed it and it worked for one day, we are now waiting for a replacement for that. There were also several small things wrong with it. We bought it from Lazydaze RV in Tucson Arizona. The biggest frustration for me was the back and forth between grand design and the dealer. These were all warranty issues but yet we had to wait as paperwork went back and forth between the dealer and grand design, sometimes multiple times for the same issue. I think most if not all of these issues should have been caught at the factory, I guess they have no QC department, given that failure these issues should have been found by the dealer and fixed prior to sale. These were all obvious issues which we found on our first weekend trip with the trailer. My wife made the comment today to the dealer that if we had known how bad the quality is at grand design we would have bought another brand of trailer, the dealers response was that with any other brand we would have had even more problems. I can’t believe that the RV industry is this bad, how do they stay in business?

Mlien47 It sounds like you have been through the ringer for sure. Hopefully your dealer and Grand Design get your issues sorted out and you can start enjoying your rig. Please keep in mind this forum is run by owners just like you. Our main focus is helping dealers fix issues in their rigs, or make upgrades. If you want any help trying any of those repairs yourself we would love to help where we can.
Forum moderators are not GD employees--we are volunteers and owners presumably just like yourself. Unless specifically mentioned otherwise, we have nothing to gain should you choose to purchase a product or engage a service we discuss on this forum.

Thanks for the offer to help if I want to fix any of these issues myself but the point of all this was that this was/is a new trailer and we feel like it should have been built correctly to start with. These were all issues that could have avoided with just a little QA applied to the building process. I should not be the one responsible for fixing the poor quality of the build and the parts chosen by the manufacturer.
