That's good to hear there is a dup station available. When we left our trailer there after the Rally this year J.D. specifically told me I "must" have my tanks empty and clean. Hmm, sometimes I wish folks would all provide the same information.

Paul - one could see why they would not want to take care of emptying customers tanks for all kinds of reasons. I suspect that if JD was my point man, he would have said to me just what he shared with you. It may well be that the practice today is different from when I was there as well.

It may be good for Tom TNFSolitude to talk with Jerry, JD, Val, and possibly others if it works for Tom to do so and see what feedback he receives and share that later. This is not meant to "get anyone in trouble" but rather to identify any inconsistencies in feedback v.s. the standard to eliminate differing levels of feedback to future customer visitors. Jerry would want the team to be sharing the same message for all the obvious reasons.

        Rob,

If I remember correctly this is the main lock and not the deadbolt that has the M label. If I get home from work tomorrow and its still light out, I can take a look at mine.

Just a quick update. Our unit has been ready after the initial repairs list has been completed. But....they found a problem with the kingpin. Per Valerie, "Well I don’t have good news, your unit was completed in paint but some saw that your pin box has shifted, meaning it is unsafe to pull unit until we replace the pin box. They are checking on how soon we can get a replacement, as soon as I get an answer I will let you know, they also said the rubber that sits between the top and bottom plate has also shifted loose."
I talked to Valerie just a bit ago and she fully expects the kingpin on Jan 2nd and to complete the installation that day. If completed early enough we may drive there on the 2nd, no later than the 3rd, to tow it home. A day of packing on the 4th and on the road south on the 5th, arrive in Lakeland FL on the 7th.
          Anyway, that's the plan.
          Merry Christmas all.

Kudos for them finding it and flagging it.

We received a pleasant phone call from Valerie yesterday, our unit is ready. Off we go bright and early this morning to go get her, the camper not Valerie. After a nice brunch at the Oasis in Three Rivers and we're at the Service Center. I back up to the new kingpin and opened the cabinet to raise the unit and "what?" there's no power to the auto level controller. There's no power to the inside lights either and find that the master switch is in the Off position. I never do that, but no big deal. I power On and presto we have lights. What's this, still no power to the controller. I open up the front compartment but I don't know what to look for. I get the controller manual from my bag-o-manuals but find no help there. I see some vehicles in the Service Center parking lot and a couple of office lights on so I call the phone no. Voice mail, figures they wouldn't answer, I probably wouldn't either coming in on my day off. Wife says she has JD's cell no., let's not call him just yet, I'll try LCI Support line, they have 24 hr coverage.
I get a tech named George. After a couple of false starts tracing the red wire from the Level Up Controller I find a fuse holder. Swap out a blown 10 amp for a 15, it's the only size I had, and tada we have power. Raise the camper the required 1", thanked George profusely, and hooked up. Retracted the landing gear, checked the lights, plugged in the TPMS and away we went.
So to conclude, we have 10 work orders completed and greatful to Grand Design for keeping our 6 year old camper in like-new condition. It's in the driveway and I'll look everything over tomorrow and start repacking and prepping for Florida. We'll be about 5 days late, but that's ok considering the repairs that were just completed. Thinking about what happened earlier, why does my wife have JD's cell no. in her phone? Anyway, I would've done more today but we took the grandchildren to dinner and a drive through the Wayne County Light Fest along Edward Hines Dr., an annual outing for us. If you live in the area you really should take the kiddies.
See you all sooner or later, maybe at Bok Tower in a couple of weeks.
