  • Lippert Thin Shade

We purchased the Lippert Thin Shade at the National Rally in Goshen, Indiana, this month.
Installation requires replacing the frosted window with the new one ... somewhat of a hassle to gain little more than blocking out the sun, not to mention the expense.
Also, where's the security in being able to identify friend or foe knocking on your door when it requires opening the door to raise the shade to see who's there??

RCriswell -- I bought it, too, at the rally. I like the tinted window (matches the rest of the glass on the camper). I installed the shade upside down and leave a small gap at the top to peak thru. ncitro gets the credit for the upside down idea.

As an alternative for those of us less mechanically inclined. I installed a snap-on fabric shade. Can really feel the heat as I walk by the door. It is doing more than expected to keep the unit cool and dark. Four screw, four snaps and we can unsnap all or a corner to peak out at visitors. No window replacement required. Fit perfectly. $14

Wow. Here I am repeatedly reinstalling mine because it kept falling down in our 297RSTS and does the same thing in our 390RK. I am an engineer, why did I not think of that? howson .Thank you for the repeat post of the fix action.
