  • Eternabond to prevent roof separation

I have a 2023 310 GK. I have read several stories from people who have had their roof separate at the front on their 310GK. A lot of suggestions were to use Eternabond tape across the front as a preventative measure. I have also read that it’s a bad idea to use eternabond because over time it shrinks and causes the membrane to curl and potentially leak. What’s the best method to prevent the roof from separating?

Once Eternabond tape goes on to roofing material, you can consider it permanently adhered. So if the cap or front of the roof need to be separated for any reason, the tape will have to be dealt with.

Your best bet is to do routine maintenance per the owners manual and DOCUMENT it. Page 207 of the Solitude owner's manual documents the steps you should take every THREE months. Do not miss out on this key maintenance or your warranty may be void. When you inspect your roof, document it with photographs that have the time stamp turned on.

I'm expecting a new Solitude to show up in our driveway in the next month or two. I'll check the roof out in great detail.
