  • Remove Fold Down Steps

Our rig is on a permanent site. I plan to have a new deck built later this year and will also build a nice set of wide steps with a landing at the top near the door. I built a smaller set of steps that I designed to go over the existing fold down steps but will not use those after the deck is built.

So how difficult is it to remove the fold down steps?

I don't know how hard it is but I can tell you where to read and find out!

First I went to Grand Design's Parts Lookup site to see exactly what you have. Turns out it is Lippert's Solid Step Gen 3.

From there I went to Lippert's website and found their documentation area. There is Product Assembly and all kinds of documentation for your steps.

Oops--I didn't realize I'd logged in using Fran's account. (Lastpass can do that to ya sometimes!)

Thanks but mine are actually the Morryde Step Above steps wth the gas assist struts. I plan to look at them carefully when we are back at the rig next week.

I added the Morryde stairs to our 337RLS. When the stairs are up, their are screws that attach the hinge part to the floor of the trailer. They can be kind of heavy so a second person might help.
