  • Replacing steps on 2000 Transcend xPlor 247BH

    I've got a 2000 Transcend xPlor 247BH. I had a little dust-up with a tree and bent the steps.

It appears I've got the Lippert Alumi-tread triple step on this trailer. As far as I can tell, this is the replacement part that I need: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...qh_dp_hza?th=1

All the websites for this model step report the steps need 27.5 inches to fit onto the trailer, but the current steps (and the mounting bracket welded to the frame of the trailer) are 27 inches.

I would have thought this would have been a standard size that didn't change much from year to year. Anyone have any insights? Any suggestions for how to order a set of steps that fits the trailer? Am I just mis-measuring something? Or is this a situation where 27.5 isn't actually 27.5?

Did a little more research, found these at the GD parts website (thanks for the link!): https://www.granddesignrv.com/owner-...s/detail/57621

Evidently these are different than the standard Alumi-tread steps?

Amazon has a 27" model here. Only thing that makes me nervous is the other dimensions aren't precisely what I currently have and they're listed as being for a different model RV: https://www.amazon.com/Motorhome-Cam...a-571291536697

I would try to bend that back into shape, it does not look that bad in the picture.

I'd certainly try that too. That metal may be pretty ductile and easily bent back to it's original position with little to no adverse performance.
