Newbie at RVing. Storing RV in covered storage facility with electricity. Power is on 3 hrs a day. Most likely after hours.

Question: We are plugged in but no lights went on in the RV today. Should they if the batteries are charged? (Levelers worked yesterday.). Should batteries be turned on? RV will be in storage for a couple of months until our truck comes in.

    Thanks

Hi Janice--welcome to Grand Design's (Technical) Owners' Forum. Since that was your first post, please check out the Welcome Letter here: https://gdrvowners.com/forum/main-fo...to-new-members

To your question: if the battery disconnect is on and the battery is charged the lights in the camper will work. The levelers can be wired before the disconnect, so the status of that disconnect won't make a difference on their operation.

If the key will pull out (or fall out) the battery disconnect is "off". Your batteries will not charge even though it's hooked to shore power in this condition--power won't go to (or from) the batteries to (most) of the camper, including the converter (aka "battery charger").

P.S. I deleted your email as it's not a good idea to post it on a public forum--lots of internet "spiders" crawl this site.

Also make sure that the converter breaker is turned on in the power distribution panel , breaker box , that controls the 120 v AC and 12 v DC power in the RV.
