My wife was tired of the paper towel holder being a movable on the counter fixture that had to be stored when moving etc. I get it. She found a couple that she like that matched and one was an adhesive version and one was a screw version. For those of you following my posts - I prefer to screw it in.....and have been resisting the attempts at adhesives on anything. I will update the master modification thread with how the war of adhesives vs. screws is going. But, I am hoping this one was a good move. People pull on the towels to rip a towel off the roll. I am not sure how well the adhesive would hold up over time.
The screws and anchors this particular model came with were completely worthless. I thought the bottom of the wood on the cabinet was a little more solid than what it is. It is very thin. There is probably a 1.5" cavity between the bottom and the actual shelf in the cabinet. I have now lost an anchor and a toggle from a toggle bolt in the interior of this cabinet....never to be seen from again, but I am certain it will be heard as we are moving...but if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it....
Anyway, I went to Lowe's to pickup the additional hardware needed (toggle bolts) and was able to successfully mount this contraption. +1 for screws.
Both of course in brushed nickel. Here are both for your viewing pleasure.
