  • Cannot access forum from Mexico

Hello Admins! For the past 3 or so days, I have not been able to access the forum from my Mexico location. I receive the message "Forbidden. You don't have permission to access this resource. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.". Has anything changed? I was always able to access it in the past without any issues. Thanks!

Recently the GD IT team has implemented a block of some kind to IP addresses that are not US or Canada. I am guessing that Mexico has fallen into that as well. This was put in place to help limit "unfriendly" guests from accessing this site.

Well, I travel to my house in Mexico quite often. I guess I'm not expecting this to be "fixed" then?

        Hi Mike,
We will take this up with the IT guys . . . you are likely not the only one. We should be able to get this sorted out.

Scott'n'Wendy Scott, you can try one of the VPN clients that will let you "appear" in the US while traveling. Most people use them to "appear" out of the US.

I presently have a pi running VNC server at my Arizona house. I connect from my Mexico house with VNC client. It works (If I remember to set it up before I leave AZ), but it is not always reliable as sometimes Cox changes my IP address and then I'm out of luck. It's free as you don't have to pay for a VPN setup.

If you run Chrome (not one of my favorite browser), they have a free one https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...gbdhglocklcgno .

                      https://protonvpn.com/free-vpn

There are several free ones out there. Look around.
