  • Rear awning won’t retract.

Our rear awning won’t retract and the lights dim when we hit the button. Has anyone experienced this before?

    thanks so much

Your post suggests the motor can't overcome the spring tension to begin retracting. Depending on the model of your awning there are ways to manual retract the awning. What I'd try is manually retracting about 1/4 of the way in, then try the electric again. (You'll find the manual retract laborious if you don't have a power driver , aka electric screwdriver.)

The above is a temp "fix" to get the awning in. To address the problem further is a different issue that can be discussed once you get the awning in.

Wondering if the awning arms became "locked" in the extended position someway. I know on some awning models the arms can be adjusted.
