  • Battery Charging?

I have my trailer parked at home while doing some mods in it. I have it plugged up only in an exterior house outlet. It is getting full sun to charge the battery during the day. I checked this morning and the battery charge is 13.1 which surprised me. Doesn't the power from my house charge the battery also?

It should. As long as the battery disconnect is on and the converter breaker is on and the converter hasn't failed.

Are you reading volts, amps, or % charged? If that's volts, it could be correct if the charger is in float mode due to batteries being fully charged.

I am reading volts. I checked my breakers and there was no breaker for the converter. There was a breaker for "inverter prep" which was on. Is it necessary for this to be on? I have not done any inverter prep.

What kind of battery? Do you think 13.1V is too high or too low?

It is an AGM battery. I wanted to make sure it was not low.

13.1 is usuall good for an AGM. Some are fully charged at 12.8V. East Penn and Interstate. 12.84 for Northstar and Enersys. 13.1 for Optima
