  • Exterior grade stick on wiring clips & wire loom sources

    Good morning folks

I have seen numerous posts where it appears folks are using stick on wiring holders on the outside of the unit on the roof or walls to hold wiring in place. Is there a good source for these exterior/weather proof ties? I am also looking for a good source for plastic wire loom - something that hold up better than my 90 day wander Harbor Freight stuff I got years ago. I am trying to gather together the supplies I will need for one of my round-to-it projects.

    Thanks
    Keith

I put the small cable tie mounts on the rear of the camper to route Ford's trailer camera wire (you may have seen pics). The wire is held to the mount using zip ties.

I prepared the spot by cleaning with rubbing alcohol, let it dry, then put the mount on the camper while holding pressure for about 30 seconds or so. Finally, I used sealant to make a small bead around the camper-to-sticky junction (all the way around) to prevent water penetration and possible separation. Note I tried to keep a straight line and keep the spacing equal between the mounts for aesthetics.

Still not the most attractive setup (wish the wire could be routed in the wall) but it works. For a relatively minor appearance improvement trying to hide the wire would be way too much effort (IMO). There was no need for additional conduit as Ford wrapped the wires in a tight waterproof loom.

I've had to redo one mount and one zip tie has broken over the last 1.5 years and almost 15,000 miles of towing.
