My .02: upgrade the battery and get the right converter. If the budget will allow, a good battery monitor (of course I'm going to recommend the Victron BMV-712 or the SmartShunt). Based on your usage scenario, skip upgrading the solar and add the ability to charge your new battery from your truck. The latter is well beyond the "single screw" scenario, however, so it will involve finding someone to install it but it is the best way to ensure that the battery is at 100% SOC when traveling--even with the refrigerator running.

Lengthy thread as it covers from conception to installation, but it should give you an idea of what's involved. The capability is fantastic: https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...e-battle-borns

Guest -- did you do a write-up on your Renogy install? All I can find is the conversation here: https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...-dc-dc-charger Also found some here: https://gdrvowners.com/forum/operati...cle-connection
    Howard,

The Renogy, LiFeP04 battery and Progressive Dynamics charger were all done at the same time. Here is a link where if anyone has some questions, I would be happy to provide some info. My 20amp Renogy as you know was connected through the 7 way connector after checking the TV wiring for capacity. Another important fact is to keep the 7 way clean.

How is that thread not in the Modification list? Adding it now...

If there's any others you've done that's not included let me know!

        Thank you Howard.

This is a simple system that for us has worked exceptionally well for dry camping. A 45 minute generator charge in the morning and the battery will power the rig for 24hrs with heat and will still have just over 40% SOC by the next morning. The system was mostly built outside the rig and installed with two large screws and a new larger side panel. So its easy on the back where time spent in the passthrough is minimal.
Next I will install a small inverter to power the TV and Blue Ray for those rainy days where I'll write something up on that since it will be another simple install.

"Simple" is relative! I'm sure there will be many forum readers that will benefit from reading how you execute your upcoming mod, Jim, so thanks in advance for taking the time to do it.
