  • Fresh water filter/softener system recommendations

Hi Folks. I'm getting ready to head back down south for the winter and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a portable water filtering/softening system that I can connect via our fresh water line. Going to Arizona and the water is hard and not very tasty. I'd like to purchase it here in Canada before I head south.
    Thanks

I have a Flowpur softener and run the little blue filters. Flowpur has been sold out for a while on the softeners, but this is a similar setup: https://www.amazon.com/Go-OTG4-DBLSO...zcF9hdGY&psc=1 to that you can pretty much add any type of residential filters you want, may take a bit of creative plumbing at the store to get the correct fittings and such. Then just build a support.

You might need a washing machine hose or https://www.homedepot.com/p/Melnor-M...B-HD/206480253 to make the connections easier between the in hose and the filter if you use https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...1709/300095988 type fittings on the filter.

On The Go softener, and the inline blue filters as a pre filter. I live in AZ, and this softener works very well.

I was in Mesa this past winter. I think they use 300-400% more chlorine than needed - from the smell of it. Make sure whatever you buy can deal with that.

For chlorine you want an active charcoal filter (based on some quick research). Those are relatively cheap and you can fab up a wooden support to put it on the ground under the unit where it's easy to change the filters.
