  • Unknown drain - what is it?

When we took delivery off our new 2019 Solitude 372WB, the person who did the PDI was not sure what the drain was (Picture attached) underneath the rear of the coach. He ultimately decided it was a drain for the kitchen sink area. And that appears to be true. After a weekend of use, if I open the valve, water dumps out onto the ground. Does anyone know why this is not piped to attach a sewer hose? What is the blue line next to it?

That's a dump for the fresh water tank. The blue line is for overflow.

Howard is spot on with his response. What is stunning to me is that the person doing your PDI did not know this.

The white pull handle is connected to a blade valve. When you pull on that handle, the water in your fresh water holding tank will dump VERY fast. When you're filling or using the fresh tank, make sure that handle is pushed all the way in. And while you're filling the tank, water will start coming out of the blue over-flow once the tank is completely full.

GD did a great thing by making that drain 2". It's a virtual waterfall of fresh water, and a great selling feature.

Howard & Jim: Thanks for the help on this issue. My first 5er, and first Grand Design, so I'm still in learn mode. And I've got more things to post when I have the time. Jim, as for the PDI, it started out with this statement - "I'm not familiar with this unit". I will say no more in public about it.
          Thanks again guys!
