    The dimension that sometimes gives trouble is from the wall behind the toilet to the center of the floor flange. The Thetford IIRC requires 10" while the Dometic requires 11". However the Dometic can almost always be installed; I recall only a single report in which someone could not install it and that was in the small rear bathroom of a toy hauler.

    There, all your problems are solved!

      From you further description, check the linkage and pivots for binding. If the ball valve is not closing properly and holding the water valve slightly open, there might be enough water flow to fill the vacuum break but not close its vent valve . . . which might be where the water leak is coming from.

        I note that you are picking up on a forum discussion from 6 months ago. If this is when you installed the Dometic toilet and have not lubricated the mechanisms and particularly the seal ring that the ball valve slides against . . . that is quite likely the problem.
