We have been living in our trailer full time for two years with good water pressure until this January. In January we were in a park and had good water pressure until it got very cold, and we had to start filling our fresh water tank during the day and using the pump at night. Sometimes while using city water during the day, I found that we had still been in the dry camping mode all day, I had forgotten to change the valves back to city water. After this is when we noticed that we started to have low water pressure when on city water and valves in the proper position. I’m wondering if it’s possible I damaged one of the valves while using water with them in the wrong position. I have read everything I could find on low water pressure, that’s where I found the information about installing the gauge on the low point drain line. Here is the information I was able to come up with.
On city water we have 60 psi at the regulator attached to the park water spicket. We have 50 psi out of our Clear Source filters going into the trailer and we have 45 psi on the gauge I installed on the cold water low point drain line. When we turn the water on in the kitchen sink, we have low water pressure and the low point drain gauge drops to 20 psi. When I change over to dry camping using the pump, we have 30 psi and good water pressure all the time. Now for the weird part, if I turn the pump off and leave the kitchen sink water on to dissipate the pressure while I switch back to city water, leaving the kitchen sink water on, when I turn the park water back on, we have good water pressure and 30 psi on the gauge I installed. It will stay like that until we turn the kitchen faucet off then it goes back to low water pressure and 20 psi on the gauge when we turn it back on.
