  • IS disc brakes not working

We have a Solitude 376 with independent suspension 8 k axles with disc brakes. We have had it for 2 weeks. We have left 2 places and completed pull test with no problems. Upon leaving 3rd place brakes would not lock up. We do NOT have ABS system according to GD and Morryde. We just did test by pulling emergency brake cord on pin box and brakes did lock and do the right thing. But doing pull test we can pull it all thru campground! We can’t find any mobile techs willing to look at it. One is trying g to reach out to people he knows from when he got certified . Someone said to bleed the brake system. Any other ideas??? We are stationary for 4 days or so.

    Hi Vhartley,

What make and vintage of truck do you have? Is it possible that you have the brake controller gain set too low? Have you set your truck system to EoH (electric over hydraulic) rather than the standard electric trailer brake apply? Your truck may also have different apply rates selected based on trailer weight.

BTW, only electric trailer brakes can have ABS. This is not applicable to hydraulically applied disc brakes (on trailers).

With the brakes working properly with the emergency brake away pulled then I would think that the issues lies in the truck system. Maybe the trailer brake fuse? This would be located in the engine compartment on one of the fender wells in a compartment box.

We have a Dodge Ram Dually 2019. He had gain all the way up to 100%.

Vhartley I agree if pulling the emergency applies them that the issue is in the truck. Do you have a volt meter? Have someone manually apply the brakes while you probe the trailer connection on the brake pin. It should be pin 1&2 in the drawing below.

Forum moderators are not GD employees--we are volunteers and owners presumably just like yourself. Unless specifically mentioned otherwise, we have nothing to gain should you choose to purchase a product or engage a service we discuss on this forum.

Does Ram have a truck setting for EoH trailer brakes? (I know that Ford does)
