  • Tire Pressure Setting

I have Goodyear Endurance tires and am getting ready to head south. Temp here is 34 F. I believe my Reflection tire setting specification is 80psi (cold). I am wondering with the cold temperature here if I should adjust for that? Thoughts? My current cold temp measure on the tires is around 74psi.

It means exactly that. 80psi before you drive. Adjust or check every day before driving.

Okay, looks like I need to add some pressure. Thanks...

Something to keep in mind as you head south and the ambient temp increases……rule of thumb is for every 10F temp change cold tire pressure will change approx 2%. Usually not a significant concern but more so if you have a larger temp change which I’m assuming you will. I don’t have that concern yet so I’ll spend my winter in -20C (or colder) for a few more years. Safe travels!

On my previous motorhomes I (along with a lot of other owners) keep the tire pressure lower than the tire recommendations for a smoother ride. While doing my PDI the tech mentioned that he aired up my tires to 75 for a smoother ride.

On a motorhome I can see it. But,.....I'm baffled by people who say they can tell the trailer rides smoother when they air down 5psi. Heck, I had a blowout on a previous trailer and didn't notice..it was the blue smoke I saw in the rearview mirror that tipped me off..lol It was the event that convinced me I needed a good TPMS.

Tire manufacturers already have taken that into account for you. John's advice is sound.
