  • Annual Axle Maintenance

Our Reflection 31MB currently has about 11,000 miles on it and instead of just performing the prescribed annual maintenance that corresponds to the current mileage I would like to replace Bearings, Races and Seals. Since we plan to be on the road full-time for at least one more year I asked Dexter for a list of what should be replaced at the 2yr/20,000k+ miles. Dexter recommended replacing the Inner and Outer Bearings, Races and Seals. They provided the part numbers for each however I'm having difficulty finding these parts locally and several of the online stores that I use for RV parts don't have these Dexter branded parts. Considering going with Timken branded parts since they seem to have a good reputation.

Does anyone know how to correlate the Dexter part number to Timken part number?

Here are the part numbers provided by Dexter:

    Races: 031-030-01 & 031-032-01
    Bearing 1: 031-030-02
    Bearing 2: 031-032-02
    Seal PN: 010-036-00

Good morning. Let me help with the research. One last bit of info. What size are the axles on the Dexters?

The part numbers that Timken gave you are their factory manufacturing numbers. This are useless when trying to find an industry standard part number. But, the Dexter axle manual (attached) gives the industry part number, which are the same part numbers that Timken uses.

BTW, I replaced all the bearings in my Lippert Axles with Timken, and they are holding up great. I purchased all of them on Amazon and all parts were stamped "U.S.A.".

        5.200# Axle, Timken Part Numbers:
        Inner Race (Cup): 25520
        Inner Bearing (Cone): 25580
        Outer Race (Cup): LM67010
        Outer Bearing (Cone): LM67048

The seal is a standard 10-36. Timken Part number: 412920.

Please check page 80 of the Dexter manual to make sure I didn't transpose any of the part numbers.

Jim, Thanks I verified the part numbers you provided versus the Dexter manual and all the part numbers were correct. Really appreciate your help!

I bought my Timken races, bearings and seals on CARiD. It was quite a bit cheaper than buying from Amazon.
